Lopez Island is one of the most beautiful places in the Pacific Northwest, and this trip allows campers to explore it to their heart's content. Come spend the weekend playing games, meeting new people, and biking. We'll go on a beach walk, find hidden treasure at the island's recycling center, spend an afternoon in town, and have campfires and dance parties!

INTRO TO ROCK

Trip Dates: May 17th-19th

Whether you've never climbed before or climbing is your one true calling, come on this three day rock climbing bonanza. Campers learn beginning rock climbing skills in a safe environment and have a great time!

DESERT SCHOOL

Trip Dates: 2 sessions!

Session 1: May 29th-June 1st

Session 2: June 2nd-June 5th

Desert school is a four day trip located in Eastern Washington, created exclusively for freshmen. Campers learn to kayak, hike, and learn interesting information about the terrain and history of Eastern Washington. There are two sessions, each for 9TH GRADERS ONLY. Desert School is our largest trip, and the perfect way to get introduced to the organization! Campers build lasting friendships and memories that they will carry with them throughout all of high school.

Regeneration Farms Day Trip

Trip Dates: TBD

Take a trip to Regeneration Farms to learn about regenerative farming + agriculture. Discover how to design and plant your own miniature food forest! If you are interested in environmental science this trip is perfect for you! There will be optional carpools if needed. Campers should make sure to bring gloves, lunch, and water. There are limited spots so make sure to sign up right away!

INTRO TO BACKPACKING

Intro to backpacking is a two-night three-day trip designed to equip campers with essential backcountry skills. This year we will be backpacking the Ozette triangle, hiking three miles each day amidst the moss-covered forests and the rocky coastline of the Olympic National Parks!

SIBERIA

Siberia is POST's only snow camping trip! Learn how to snowshoe, stay safe, stay warm, and have fun even when it’s 6 months away from summer. Great for all skill levels, including beginners.

ADVANCED SURVIVAL

Advanced Survival is just like Fall or Spring Survival but to the next level. It’s a trip full of teamwork, advanced outdoor education and experience, and most importantly, extreme fun! It is two nights out in the woods working on learning and using important skills and adding to your knowledge of the wilderness to survive out in the wild. “Advanced” refers to the fact that the skills you learn will be higher level than those on survival and will be utilized on the trip, however this doesn’t mean you need to have previous experience to attend.

HEYBROOK LOOKOUT HIKE

FALL SURVIVAL

Trip Dates: TBD

Survival is a three-day outdoor adventure to BSA Camp Pigott, during which students learn basic wilderness skills including fire and shelter building, knot tying, Leave No Trace principles, navigation, and first aid. No previous backpacking or camping experience is necessary to go on this trip, and we can provide any gear that will be needed. It is an awesome outdoor experience whether it’s your first time camping or you’re an accomplished explorer!

INTRO TO CAMPING

Intro to Camping is designed for students who have little to no experience with camping. Campers will have the opportunity to hike, swim, explore the Boulder Caves, eat delicious food, and bond with other campers in an inclusive environment. This fall the trip will be located on the outskirts of Mt. Rainier in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Campers will learn valuable outdoor skills through a classic Washington state camping experience.

THE PASSAGE

We are bringing back our kayaking trip! The Passage is a two night trip where you will spend your summer days kayaking on Kachess Lake. Hike across beautiful trails, float along a vibrant blue lake, and swim in the refreshing water!

RAMBLEWOOD

Ramblewood is our most popular summer trip. Similar to Desert School, campers of all grade levels will stay in cabins and participate in activities such as hiking, kayaking, ping pong tournaments, and more! No outdoor experience necessary.

ISLAND SCHOOL

Island school is a 3-day, 2-night trip to Moran State Park on Orcas Island. Campers will explore an advanced trail system, swim and paddleboard on the crystal-clear waters of Lake Moran, and play games together. This trip is open for people of all outdoor experiences and is challenge by choice. There will be a group hike up Mount Constitution and get ice cream at the top. We will learn basic outdoor principles and the history of the land.

THE TRAVERSE

The Traverse is a two night backpacking trip at Mount Townsend in the Olympic mountains. We will hike a total of 8 miles over three days. Campers will gain skills in backpacking as well as learn about the surrounding environment. All levels of experience in backpacking are welcome!
